Specializing in rich, vibrant flavors, Gojo brilliantly showcases the best of Ethiopian culinary tradition with a menu that’s as diverse as it is delicious.
The restaurant’s standout dishes like the Mahiberhawi Combo Veg and Meat Injera Platter deliver an irresistible medley of perfectly spiced vegetarian and meat options, all resting atop the signature injera—a uniquely textured, tangy flatbread that invites communal sharing and adds a delightful sour crunch to each bite. For those craving bold and hearty flavors, the Doro Wot, a spicy chicken stew simmered with berbere spices and complemented by a hard-boiled egg, is a soul-warming favorite that radiates comfort and depth of flavor.
Gojo’s menu also embraces a myriad of vegan options crafted with care, like the Shiro Bozena—a velvety roasted chickpea flour stew—and the Yestom Firfir, which offers fresh injera pieces bathed in spicy onion and berbere sauce with a gentle kick of jalapeño. These dishes highlight the kitchen’s dedication to robust, layered tastes that remain approachable while celebrating authentic Ethiopian spice blends and traditional cooking techniques.

I had previously tried Ethiopian food elsewhere in my life and determined it just wasn't my thing. After trying this place, I have determined I in fact really love Ethiopian food. Very flavourful, staff generally amicable as well. If you are reading these debating whether or not to try, let my review be the one that convinces you to give it a shot Worth noting that the food is significantly better if eaten in rather than ordering on courier apps, so make a point of going in!
I took my wife here for a special treat today. We both love Ethiopian food, and Gojo did not disappoint. We had the meat combination platter. Service was good, food was amazing, and the injera was fantastic. Will definitely be coming back for the injera! We tried the coffee, was also quite delicious and different than your typical North American brew. Price was less than we expected. Definitely the best Ethiopian in Saskatoon. Give it a try, you’ll be glad you did!
The food was so good!! I was just walking by and decided to stop in, and I’m so glad I did. Lots of great vegetarian options, and everyone was super friendly. Can’t believe how much food you get for the price! The Ethiopian coffee with popcorn was such a nice touch. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Saskatoon!
More people need to experience the deliciousness of Ethiopian food. We got the veg and meat platter which can easily feed 3-4 people. The flavour was so rich and hearty. The spice level was low, which was perfect, but did build a bit as you continue to go back.
Finally got to try Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint! Big portions and I love the sharing factor of the platters. Also great options for vegetarians and just so tasty!
Our family finally had the chance to try Gojo Ethiopian Restaurant, and it was an incredible experience. Having worked in Ethiopia and being familiar with the cuisine, I can honestly say the food was outstanding and the ambience made it even better. We ordered the Mahiberhawi vegetarian and meat platter with injera, and everything was absolutely delicious. Even my kids, who were trying Ethiopian food for the first time, loved it. We finished our meal with Kimem Shai (tea), and the blend of cloves, cardamom, and spices was perfectly balanced. One thing that really stood out was the atmosphere. Rather than loud top 40 music, we enjoyed beautiful Ethiopian music, which added to the authenticity of the experience. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we hope to experience the traditional Buna (coffee) ceremony. Thank you, and amaseganalo! አመሰግናለሁ!
The food quality was amazing and the price was hard to beat (they could charge a bit more and I wouldn't bat an eye). There were 3 of us for dinner, we had the sharing platter and all left full. It was a really nice mix of vegetarian and meat options and everything has it own flavour/texture/flavour profile. Can't wait to return!
